Data released by National Highways shows that by offering Journey Time on a VMS, motorists respond better and are better satisfied by being alerted to delays or time needed to get through roadworks, diversion routes, or areas of high traffic.
Our cloud-based solution for journey time collects data from a range of sensors and smart devices every five minutes, updating the VMS with the most accurate data available.
This solution was developed in-house, and can work directly for displaying on our VMS, or can be run independently - logging data and reporting across your site.
As an industry first, we have also developed a solution for running two journey time routes on a single VMS screen โ for example, showing motorists the time to get through the works, as well as the time to get through a less congested diversion route. This keeps the motorist informed and offers a potentially faster route whilst reducing emissions from queuing traffic.
Should the journey time exceed a preconfigured maximum duration, an automated email alert will be sent to your chosen recipients, and in an emergency, messages can be quickly overridden to update the VMS display in real time.
Journey Time VMS can be displayed on both our VMS-S HD and VMS-L HD depending on the road speed.
