VECTA

Vecta represents a major step forward for hazardous object detection and SVD - a truly next-generation detection system built for the challenges of modern traffic management and redefining what’s possible in road safety and efficiency.
Combining advanced 3D perception, CCTV, and a weather station, Vecta uses point cloud data and intelligent software to automatically detect and alert on hazardous object in the carriageway – enabling a quick response by the relevant parties. The result: Safer roads, reduced journey time, and efficient operations.

VARIABLE MESSAGE SIGNS

Portable variable message signs (VMS) are commonly used on the UK highways network (SRN) to communicate changes, updates, and more to motorists. For example, solutions such as the Journey Time Solution provide a better customer experience by informing motorists of the duration of a delay ahead, and offering alternate routes.

Other solutions available turn our industry-leading full colour VMS-HD range into a full IoT (internet of things) based solution, allowing a range of sensors to provide critical safety solutions such as:

Notifying over height vehicles to prevent bridge strikes on diversion routes.
Standing water/flood alerting.
Adverse weather warning such as strong winds for bridge closures.

All VMS are available for short or long term hire across the UK.

OVER HEIGHT / LOW BRIDGE WARNING SYSTEM

On average, 5 bridge strikes are reported daily, with an unknown number which aren’t reported to authorities. Bridge strikes often lead to road closures, rail closures, bus replacement services and expensive structural checks and repairs. Our over height warning system is a temporary solution that runs fully off grid, can be quickly installed, and is operational within minutes using sensors and mobile VMS. We have successfully installed this solution on diversion routes across the UK in which drivers may not be aware of the low structures ahead. Each activation triggered is remotely sent to our database for site audit purposes.

JOURNEY TIME SOLUTION

Our cloud-based journey time solution shows motorists the expected delay time or conditions ahead by collecting data from a range of online platforms, calculating the delay, and updating our HD VMS every 10 minutes. This solution offers a double journey time to show motorists both time through the works as well as time via an approaching diversion. We also offer floating routes in the background to collect and work out historical data. Each route time can be displayed on our full colour HD VMS, designed for indefinite operation all year round.

ROAD CLOSURE INCURSION SOLUTION

The road closure incursion solution is a modular solution designed to reduce incursions within closures; a proven solution to increase site safety and reduce the number of incursions through work safety zones. This solution can be custom built as required, including modules such as compact VMS displays highlighting the restriction ahead, lighting modules illuminating airlock zones, and CCTV technology capturing footage of incursions, including audio for evidential purposes. Within the embedded module, each incident is automatically stored via a cloud app, and sends alerts to site workers ahead via audio and visual warning systems. We’re continually developing our range of bolt-on modules for RCIS to make the road network safer for operatives.

VEHICLE ACTIVATED SPEED SIGNS

Our SDT Vehicle Activated Signs are a tried and tested method for slowing down traffic approaching temporary traffic management. This unit is an intelligent vehicle activated sign that can accurately measure and enforce any speed roundel on screen from up to 200m away. The compact trailer frame houses a maintenance-free sealed battery bank and solar panel combination to stay operational all year round. The SDT also carries an embedded data recording module that continually collects passing vehicle data to monitor traffic flow, average speeds, and more. All data collected can be streamed and viewed remotely, including live traffic flow.
