HAZARD DETECTION & WARNING

Give warning to motorists of hazards ahead or of dangerous
road conditions.

INCREASE HAZARD AWARENESS

Throughout diversion routes, traffic management schemes, construction works and more, it’s crucial to alert motorists of hazards they may encounter – such as low bridges, slow vehicles, and obstructions. With connected intelligent systems and products, we offer a range of solutions designed to increase safety for motorists, pedestrians, workers, and other road users.

VECTA

Vecta represents a major step forward for hazardous object detection and SVD - a truly next-generation detection system built for the challenges of modern traffic management and redefining what’s possible in road safety and efficiency.
Combining advanced 3D perception, CCTV, and a weather station, Vecta uses point cloud data and intelligent software to automatically detect and alert on hazardous object in the carriageway – enabling a quick response by the relevant parties. The result: Safer roads, reduced journey time, and efficient operations.

works egress warning

WORKS EGRESS WARNING

Works egress warning via VMS warns motorists approaching a particular traffic management access/exit area that a works vehicle will be re-joining the main carriageway. Positioned around 200 yards prior to the access/exit point, a VMS is linked to a set of sensors, which automatically activate a custom message on the VMS to warn motorists that a slower moving vehicle will be re-joining the carriageway ahead. This innovative solution can be set up in a few minutes and offers an increase in safety and efficiency when managing traffic around site entry and exit points.

over height warning

OVER HEIGHT ALERT

On a diversion route with a low bridge, motorists on the route may not be aware of the dangers ahead. Our telescopic height sensors are quick to install and set to just below the height of a bridge. When a high sided vehicle triggers the sensors, our VMS will activate, alerting the offending vehicle to stop or divert to an alternative route.

vms

VARIABLE MESSAGE SIGNS (VMS)

By itself, a standalone VMS can be configured to display any message of upcoming or current works, delays, or diversions – informing motorists and enabling safer journeys. As part of a connected network or intelligent transport system (ITS), these same VMS units can connect to sensors, CCTV, ANPR and more to provide changing or real-time alerts around speed, queues, works, weather conditions, or other hazards.

collision avoidance system – cas

COLLISION AVOIDANCE SYSTEM

Connected to state-of-the-art sensors, CAS warns motorists of potential hazards at intersections or crossroads, but only when vehicles are waiting to cross or join the road – providing a visual warning exactly when needed. This unit is easily mounted to a roadside pole, and can be programmed to respond to vehicles exceeding an upper speed limit, even if there are no vehicles waiting to cross, as well as a lower limit when vehicles are waiting.

flood system alert

FLOOD SYSTEM

Flooded roads are a danger to cars, cyclists, and pedestrians alike, especially if the water is deeper than it appears. Using advanced sensors, a flood warning sign alerts people approaching of the hazard ahead, as well as the approximate depth.
