Pole mounted vehicle activated signs are an innovative and proven method of accurately reducing vehicle speeds in targeted areas, including village entrances, school zones, and community speed watch areas, along with private and construction sites. Our VAS-300 range is based on a traditional pole mounted fitting and can be installed quickly. All versions are either mains or solar powered, with solar powered solutions keeping any vehicle activated sign operational all year round.
These cost-effective vehicle activated signs reduce vehicle speed and improve road safety for all - monitoring and displaying approaching traffic speeds up to 200m away via a high intensity dual colour LED display. If the speed of an approaching vehicle is under the named limit, green digits will be displayed. If the vehicle is speeding, these digits change to red.
Embedded within the unit, a data logging device can be added to covertly record vehicle data. In-depth statistics are captured from every passing vehicle, data such as traffic flow, average speeds and worst offending drivers - all recorded including a time and date stamp. Data can be downloaded locally via USB, Bluetooth or remotely via 4G using our RoadConnect platform.

VAS-300
A simple yet effective configuration, VAS-300 brightly displays the speed of an incoming vehicle. The intelligent display turns digits red or green depending on if the approaching vehicle is above or below the defined speed limit. This display is ideal for any general traffic management needs.
VAS-300SD
This configuration features a ‘SLOW DOWN’ module, appearing below the speed indicator when a vehicle is over the defined limit. If the vehicle slows down to the appropriate speed (or was travelling under the speed limit throughout), the display changes back to green and the slow down module disappears. VAS-300SD is ideal for construction sites, village entrances, and to slow motorists down before hazards on the road.
VAS-300SA
Similar to the SD, the VAS-300SA changes displays depending on the speed of the approaching vehicle. Under the speed limit, the speed indicator is green and accompanied by a smiley face. If over the defined speed limit, the display changes to red, along with an unhappy face. This configuration is particularly effective in school zones, through villages, or in community speed watch areas.
VAS-300SR
The SR configuration features an always-on speed roundel showing the correct road or site speed limit, along with an intelligent speed indicating display that changes between red and greed depending on the speed of the approaching vehicle. This is an effective option where speed limits vary throughout an area, as well as through road works, construction sites, villages, and event venues.
