SDT-ANPR is the industry’s first standalone, portable solar powered ANPR speed enforcement trailer - designed for use within private sites, bus interchanges, docks, airport roadways, quarries, community speed watch groups and more for speed monitoring and enforcement. It's designed to sit on an adjustable raised platform, making it easily viewable on sites where HGVs or larger vehicles are operating. This unit is also light enough to be manoeuvred and deployed by one person, and can be operational within minutes of being driven into position.
The system consists of a Speed Indicator Device (SID), radar and ANPR camera. It records vehicle speeds using radar (spot speeds) as they pass by and captures their number plates - with the sign displaying speeds between 5 mph and 99 mph. Vehicles are tracked from up to 100 metres, with images captured at approximately 15-25 metres.
Once deployed, SDT-ANPR continuously measures approaching traffic a maximum distance of 100 meters. This speed is shown on the LED display, where a SLOW DOWN module will illuminate if a vehicle is travelling above the designated speed limit. Within 15 meters, should any vehicle continue to violate the pre-set speed limit, a capture will be produced with an image including number plate, speed, time and date stamp.
This data can be stored locally or streamed over 4G or Wi-Fi network – for example, to a security gate house or the relevant personnel for the appropriate action.
Fitted with an ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) camera, any speed violation is recorded in much the same way as a speed camera on the UK Highways network for the Police. Data processing is done on board the trailer and then streamed securely for review by the appropriate personnel.
Requiring no mains power, the SDT ANPR runs from batteries within the trailer, which are recharged by on board solar panels. A number of options are available to accommodate longer run times with alternative energy fuel cells through the winter months. Once deployed on site the wheels and tow bar can be removed for maximum security.
Please note: The ANPR Speed Camera doesn’t have HOTA (Home Office Type Approval) for speed enforcement prosecution on the UK Highways Network. However, customers may utilise this solution to warn speeding suppliers or employees, ban certain vehicles from site, or ban repeat offending companies from site – ideal for compliance, safety, and security.
